Air Interface Simulator
Description
How do you simulate wireless mobility in a lab?
The Qosmotec Air Interface Simulator (AIS) simulates aspects of the air interface which are of utmost importance for network or terminal validation in a laboratory environment, where radio signals must be conveyed in shielded coaxial cables.
It can be applied to tests of network as well as terminal equipment.
AIS is inserted into the coaxial links between real mobiles and base stations or base station simulators to simulate essential effects of signal propagation through open space, such as the free space path loss, slow or fast fading, drop-outs and various handover situations.

AIS Simulates Subscriber Mobility in the Lab
- Simulate handovers / cell reselections
- Synthesize handover/cell reselection scenarios or play back signal profiles recorded in the field.
- Improve the quality of testing
- Test reproduction with millisecond accuracy.
- Reduce time to market & operational costs
- Unattended 24/7 testing in conjunction with an automatic call tester (e.g. Qosmotec LTS).
- Simplify your test set-up
- Can be used with any mobile type;
- All HO-types possible with 4 connected cells;
- Real-life-like GUI allows manipulating multiple radio links simultaneously.
- Validate and optimise your network set-up
- Generate field strength prediction maps and probe the service quality with real terminal equipment - even before network deployment.
Lab Test System (LTS)
Description
Do you still employ a huge team of testers to manually test services or handsets?
Testing consumes about 40% of the software development lifecycle, and 80% of all tests are regression tests. Hence, automation of regression tests can achieve significant reductions of development costs and shorten time to market.
The purpose of LTS is to fully automate your lab tests, controlling commercial or test mobiles as well as supplementary test equipment, such as the Qosmotec AIS, protocol analysers or signalling generators, and even the network switches, in a synchronous test campaign. Test suites are stored in a database and can be replayed at any time. By controlling hundreds of mobiles, LTS can also be used as end-to-end load generator.
LTS performs the job of a whole team of testers upon a keypress.
LTS Integrates Automated Testing on all Network Interfaces
- Automate load, stability and regression tests
LTS integrates automated testers on various interfaces of the System under Test under a common test management, e.g. mobile end-to-end feature test, handover test, service monitoring etc.
- Leverage the talents of your engineers in a more efficient way
LTS releases test engineers from tiresome regression testing of established features, so they can focus on testing of new features and debugging.
- Improve the quality of your test process
Testing upon a keypress, based on archived test suites means you can re-test every patch, with better reproducibility and free of human errors.
- Reduce Time to Market
Fast, parallel, unattended 24/7 test execution;Unlimited scalability by distributed processing.
